“ Super popular spot with lots of people but quick and friendly service, which made our dining experience that much better! By the time we got in there was a line of people and by the time we left, the restaurant still felt busy. Before we sat down, the server asked us to place any appetizers - would highly recommend the Seafood Pancake or Haemul Pajeon: super crispy with soft, chewy squid pieces and paired very nicely with their spicy soy sauce. They have various kalguksoo and sujebi options, even soondubu (soft tofu). Super hearty and hot with generous portions. ”
“ The BEST Korean noodle place, so uniquely flavourful. Great noodle texture, toppings, and broth flavor. Seafood pancakes is also sooo good. It is a little pricey but very worth it!! ”
“ Very cozy spot on a cold day. Their service was spot on and the waitresses are very friendly. The food was amazing. Everything exceeded our expectations and I'm definitely excited to come back to try all their options on their menu! ”
“ Cuisine: 9 Service: 8 Decor: 7 Value: 9 Overall: 9 It's hard not to love this restaurant that's been serving Korean comfort food since 1983. My first visit was probably sometime back in the late 1990's at through an introduction from my Korean friends. I will always recall that first bite of their Pajun and Oko Pajun. It just hit differently. Imho, it's simply the best Korean pancakes anywhere. After all these years, I still come here whenever I crave one of their fabulous pancakes. The crispy bottom is always perfectly cooked. The ingredients are always easy to decipher and contributes to the overall deliciousness of the dish. My personal favorite is Seafood Pancake or Seafood Oko Pancake. They also serve some great Kalguksu (long noodle), which comes with some yummy broth like chicken, seafood, fishcake, or short neck clam. You can have them spicy or not. The noodles are smooth with a nice chew. Very enjoyable on a cold day. On my recent visit, we also had the Bibim Man Du (fried dumplings & veggies mixed with sweet & spicy sauce), which was an excellent starter. With that said, our Bulgogi Soondubu, though smooth and tender, lacked a bit of flavor. I will note that it may have been better if we had gotten it medium instead of mild to accommodate my dining group. Ultimately, I am here for the Pajun/Oko Pajun and the variety of Kalguksu. Therefore, my rating is based on those dishes more than anything else. I also feel that prices are fantastic because I always leave happily stuffed for a fraction of what I would spend elsewhere. I truly hope they are around for another forty years for me to enjoy. ”
“ So glad that I finally found this place because I no longer have to trek all the way to Manhattan for delicious Korean food. I came here on a late afternoon on Saturday and still had to wait a bit, the Daesung was packed! Before getting seated, we placed our order and were greeted with a variety of banchan once we were at our table. We started off with the seafood pancake and loved how light the dough was and how much seafood was included. I ordered the tofu noodle soup at the very mild level and it was packing with flavor. This is definitely a restaurant where you need to come hungry because the bowls are huge. The service was great as they were super friendly but efficient, making sure everyone can be seated promptly. The restaurant was a pretty good size and was very modern. I will definitely return, this place is perfect for a cold winter day when I am craving some soup! ”
“ One of my favorite authentic Asian spots!! Found this place on a whim and wow!!! If you are looking for delicious Asian food that is amazing and equally as comforting this is the spot to go! Great noodles that are so chewy and fresh. The broth is very delicate and perfectly seasoned! Service was great. They have a call button at each table which is very convenient during your meal. Inside is beautiful, clean, very chic and modern. I have not a single complaint. Loved loved loveddd my meal here!! ”
“ We finally came back to try the oyster pancake, let just say. Perfect, crispy, delicious, when it was delivered to the table, you can feel the heat from the cast iron plate. I tried the honey soy sauce and the spicy soy sauce, both sauces are great. In my opinion the sweet soy sauce enhances the natural level of salt of the oyster, just enough to pop that next level of umami on your palate. Definitely very good option, plus it helps that the oysters are not overcooked. Previous we ordered the seafood pancake which was also very good. Honestly i dont know any other Korean restaurant that cooks their pancakes like they do here! We also order a spicy seafood soup with the hime made noodles and a spicy beef soup. The soups are very good, the service is quick and attentive and the kitchen puts out food fast even when the restaurant is busy on Friday night, that's definitely a plus! ”
“ If you love soup noodles like me, this is your dream place. The food is delicious, service is quick, and the prices can't be beat. We started with appetizers of course - vegetable and seafood pancakes and dumplings. All were good but the seafood pancake is a must and it was huge! I had the fish cake noodles and the soon du bu noodles. Fish cakes were delicious. Soon dubu was good but not as flavorful and spicy as I was hoping. I think the rice version would be better, but all in all it was still good. They get packed super fast so prepare to wait a bit. Service is fast and great. They're quick to take your order and bring food out which helps with getting everyone in and out quick. Would definitely come back again if I was in the area! ”
“ Daesung Korean Noodle in Queens is a cozy spot that delivers comfort in every bite. Their handmade noodles are the star of the menu, offering a perfect balance of chewiness and freshness. Whether you try their signature kal-guksu (knife-cut noodle soup) or the savory jjajangmyeon (black bean noodles), each dish is packed with rich, authentic flavors that satisfy the soul. The warm, welcoming atmosphere at Daesung makes it a great place for a casual meal or to warm up on a chilly day. The friendly staff adds to the experience, ensuring you feel right at home while enjoying some of the best Korean noodles in the area. If you're a fan of comforting, homemade-style noodle dishes, Daesung should be on your list. ”
“ I've already lost count of how many times I visited Daesung. If you ask for my favorite spot for korean food in NYC, Daesung is 10/10 all around. I am very obsessed with their seafood oko pajeon, bibim guksu (mixed cold noodles) and mandu. Come hungry or drag more people because the food portion is gigantic. *Steamed Mandu (찐 만두)** We tried their steamed and fried mandu, and I prefer the steamed ones. It is fully stuffed with minced pork, chives and glass noodles. It tastes divine by itself, or when you dip it into the vinegary soy sauce. *Seafood Oko Pancake (해물 오코 파전)*** Imagine it is a seafood pajeon meeting okonomiyaki. Served on a pan with bonito flakes, drizzles of mayonnaise and teriyaki sauces. Their pancake is a BIG BOY, so huge even if we share with a group of four. Each slice is heavily loaded with shrimps and squid. The crispy edges are delightful. *Fishcake Kalguksu (어묵 칼국수) My fam can't handle spice so they got a clear and non-spicy broth. The fishcakes absorbs the essence of the broth. They offer long or wide noodles. Both types are bouncy and chewy but we like the long noods a little bit more. *Soft Tofu Stew (순두부찌개) First time getting the tofu jigae and it was surprisingly good. You can pick from different spice levels and my fam went for the non-spicy stew. We loved the jiggly soft tofu. The hot stone pot kept the food hot throughout the meal. ”
